If only we knew what comes next—what lies just beyond this moment—right after that heartbreak, job loss, argument with a friend or partner, missed train or flight, or moment of disappointment. The list goes on and on. If we could only see what is waiting for us afterward, if we could view the bigger picture or zoom out to see our entire timeline, everything would make sense.

Trust me, we would be thankful. In fact, we would bow our heads to the universe, to the Creator, to the Divine, or to God, thanking them for guiding us through these moments. We would stop complaining, worrying, and doubting.

I still fall into the mental trap of fear and mistrust. But every time, I remind myself of my mantra: Life is happening for you, not to you, dear one.

Everything is unfolding for me, no matter how I feel about it at the moment. Even when things seem difficult or painful, I remind myself to trust that it is all for my greater good and benefit. This practice doesn’t completely erase the discomfort, but it does ease the intensity, bringing calmness, faith, and surrender.

So many incidents have happened in my life that only made sense later. When I let time pass, life unfolds, and I see why things occurred as they did. For example, there was a time when a planned meeting with someone didn’t happen. I was initially upset. But just a few hours later, I realized that my absence had indirectly guided that person to attend a different event. That event turned out to be a deeply healing experience for them.

I now see that our meeting wasn’t meant to happen at that particular time. Perhaps our energies or mental states weren’t aligned. When we finally did meet, it was under better circumstances, allowing us to benefit each other more profoundly.

These kinds of events happen frequently in life. If we can trust the universe more, knowing that we are loved, guided, and supported, we’ll see that nothing in life is truly against us—except perhaps our own ego and mind.

Life is beautiful. Life is full of love if we choose to see it.

Let’s remind ourselves that everything is falling into the right place at the right time.

Life is happening for us, not against us.
